The Norm

I wanted to share with you a few things are are normal for us in Honduras. I should have learned by now to keep my camera with me at all times because you are not quite sure of what you are going to see.

This is the ice cream man. He has a bell on his bar and rings it as he walks the streets. Keep in mind Tegucigalpa is a very hilly city, pushing these carts can get tricky and tiring.

This is a Honduran version of a convience store. Do you notice the cute little American in the picture???? Not that he stands out or anything?

These are man holes with missing covers that have been stolen and sold for scrap metal. It does no good to replace them because they will be stolen again, again, and again. They tried replacing them with plastice ones, but when it rains they float away. So............... always be on the lookout when driving.

This particular manhole is on the road that leads to the kids' school. But, it is not a problem because all the parents have learned to expect that there is a big hole in the road.
