Congratulations Reid!

Reid was selected from the first grade at his school to go and compete in a Spanish Oral reading competition against other local private Honduran Schools.

We are very proud of Reid for taking third place at this special event. He was given a book written in Spanish that he had never read before and read it aloud. He was scored on his ability to ready orally using fluency, volume, intonation, and correct usage of punctuation. This award is special to us because Reid was the only American in the entire competition, this gives you an idea of how good of a Spanish speaker/reader he is.

When Reid's name was called to go up and receive his medal, the crowd of students (from the school he did the competion) went wild. The Spanish teacher told me they did that at the actual competition as well two days earlier. How could you not go wild after this fluent Spanish speaking, blonde haired, blue eyed, adorable American boy? (O.K. that last sentence came from a proud mom!)
