Gone Fishin'

A couple of years ago we visited Matt's brother in Vermont and they took the kids fishing off one of the piers. Unfortunately they didn't catch anything that day. Ever since then my boys have been waiting for another chance to catch some fish.

While in Roatan we befriended the owner of an excellent restaurant on the island. Dixie of Mavis and Dixie's (she is the one who made our homemade Thanksgiving dinner rolls). Anyway, we would see her daily and chat with her as we would pass by on our way to the beach. It is an open air restaurant and pretty much she was there all the time. Anyway, Dixie's husband took the kids (and dads) out for a fishing trip. He guaranteed that the kids would catch some fish. Anne and I expected them to be gone the one hour that we told him we wanted. Three hours later they return all smiles. Graham was the first one off the boat with his hands held out about a foot apart and a gleam in his eyes, "Mommy, you won't believe how big the fish was that I caught!" Come to find out he was the one with the catch of the day. The kids probably caught at least 35 fish that day!
